Bittorrent Causing Router Lockup

November 27th, 2006

For a while now, I’ve been having problems using Bittorrent. After starting a large download, sometime during the night my internet connection would drop. I knew it was not a problem with my local machine because my router administration page was reporting it was disconnected from the WAN and I was not able to have it reconnect. It was reporting that it was not able to obtain an IP address from the ISP’s DHCP server.

The Black Friday Obsession

November 25th, 2006

This Black Friday shopping thing is just totally weird when you step back and take a look at it. I have a really hard time understanding the appeal of standing in line in the cold, hours on end to save a few bucks. At first, this article may seem out of place in a tech-oriented blog, however as you’ll see there’s still a lot of geeky fun to be had with technology whilst in the woods.

Backing Up Your Website and Database

August 7th, 2006

If you’re like me and most anyone else, you’re probably not that great at backing up your PC. Which means you’re probably even worse at backing up your data on your website. For once, I’m attempting to be proactive and get the stuff backed up on my hosting provider before something bad happens.

July 16th, 2006

In an effort to expand the De-Crapifier tool beyond just Dell machines, it’s getting a new name: The PC De-Crapifier. I’ve been contemplating doing this for some time now, however an email from a Dell trademark representative tilted the scales to do it now :)
